In the world of jewelry, the Faberge eggs, intricately carved by the Russian royal jeweler Peter Carl Faberge, are of the highest class. From 1855 to 1917, the House of Faberge produced one egg masterpiece each year for the Tsar to give as a gift to his wife and family members. Each egg is inspired by a historical event and there is only one of each. Of the 69 Faberge eggs, only 57 have survived the test of time and are kept in museums and private collections around the world.
